We were notified earlier today that an individual who tested positive for COVID 19 was on our campus. The increase of positive cases in our area has impacted our staff and students. Due to a staffing issue, grades 9-12 only will be pivoting to a remote instructional model for the week of December 7th. During this time, students are expected to engage with each of their courses daily as outlined by their teachers. Teachers will also be communicating with their students through email and google classroom. Students in grades Pk-8 should report to school as normal unless sick or in a mandatory quarantine. With the assistance from the health department, we will continue to monitor the situation and provide an update to our families later this week. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these current conditions. It is our hope that we can return to an in person instructional model for everyone quickly.

Good Morning. We have been notified by the health department of a positive case on our campus before the Thanksgiving holiday. We have identified and excluded all individuals considered a close contact to the index case. We will continue to work with the local health department as information becomes available. Your cooperation with completing the daily health check every morning and keeping your student home when they are sick, greatly assists our efforts in maintaining in-person instruction for our students.

Secondary students of the quarter!
Good Evening Clymer Families, With increasing positive Covid cases in our community and areas around us, it is extremely important that you are monitoring your family’s health. Your cooperation in reporting the daily health screen is essential to maintain our in person instructional model. Each day it is the responsibility of every family to complete the SNAP health report that is available through text or the link on our website. Any student who does not have a daily health screen completed by 7:30 am will be held in isolation upon entry into the building until a parent can be contacted. We understand that these extra measures may be inconvenient for our families, but they are essential for minimizing exposure to our students and staff. We appreciate your cooperation as we continue to act in the best interest of our children.

Good Evening Clymer Families, As posted on our website, on November 16, 2020, the Clymer school had its 2nd incident of exposure to a Covid-19. positive case. We have identified and excluded all individuals that are considered a contact to the index case. The Chautauqua County Health department will also be following up with each of the affected individuals. It is imperative for those individuals to work with the health department and follow their recommendations to limit the spread of infection. At this point in time we are monitoring our attendance, but we are remaining in an in person instructional model. We will make adjustments as necessary and will communicate to families if a change to our instructional model is needed. Our students and staff will continue to social distance when possible, especially in classrooms, wear face coverings when not moving or socially distanced, and wash hands or sanitize frequently. You can help our efforts by keeping your children home if they show any signs of illness. Thank you for your ongoing assistance and support. Thank you Beth Olson

Quarter 2 begins Monday. As we enter the second quarter of the school year, it is necessary to shift several student schedules (particularly in grades 7-12) to ensure social distancing in the classrooms. Your child will be notified this week if any of these changes affect their schedule. Please speak with your child for an update on their schedule.

This is an important message from Clymer Central School. In an effort to keep our students safe and engaged in the classroom, students will be asked to keep their cell phones in their lockers. Consequences as specified in the Student Handbook for the misuse of cell phones during the school day will be strictly enforced. If you need to contact your child during the school day, please call the main office and your message will be given to your child. We encourage you to ensure your child is using their cell phones and electronic devices appropriately outside of school hours as well. Thank you for your support in this matter. Have a happy and safe Halloween!
