As we prepare our students for their return to instruction on Monday, I would like to remind you of your daily responsibility to complete the daily health screening for your children on the SNAP system. Questions on the survey have been modified to align the new guidelines released this past week. If your child arrives to school without a completed health screening, he/she will not be allowed to attend class until a parent/guardian can be reached. This daily requirement is necessary to minimize the risk of exposure and quarantine to other students and staff in the building. Quarantine not only impacts the classroom, but the athletic fields and other class trips. Please due your due diligence to keep our community safe. More communication will be sent out over the next week providing any additional updates to our in-person instructional model in light of the updated guidance. We look forward to the energy your children bring to our building.

The fifth graders practiced our flood drill this afternoon, in honor of April Fool's Day. They sat on their desks, reached one hand up in the air, and held their nose with the other. We are now prepared for mass flooding on the second floor of Clymer Central School. Having fun while learning and of course demonstrating, #piratepride

Mr. King, CCS Wellness Coordinator/Physical Education teacher, Mrs. Watrous, Cafeteria Manager, and Nurse Amy Johnson offered a coloring contest to UPK-Grade 6 in March. We were fortunate to have the Chautauqua County Dairy Princess, LynnDee Nagel, come after school to judge the entries. Everyone enjoyed seeing the colorful pictures posted in the hallway and reading the responses from the students regarding why they like milk. A healthy diet and good nutrition are so important--Mrs. Watrous and her staff work hard each day to provide wholesome meals to our student body each school day-and during the 2020-21 school year they are free of charge! The entries of the following students were selected by the Dairy Princess to receive an additional prize. (Selected 4th grade student was absent).

Calling all junior/senior parents/guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles, anyone who wants to help out! GREAT NEWS!!! Prom is going to happen! The date is yet to be determined! With that, we are needing to plan the after prom for the students to have a safe, drug and alcohol free place to spend the rest of the night after prom. This will take place at the school directly after the prom. There will be games, giveaways and prizes for the students/dates who attend! We are looking for volunteers to help with planning (behind the scenes), setup, the actual event supervision, and cleanup. If you would like to help out, there will be a meeting on MONDAY, MARCH 29 @ 7PM in the school CAFETERIA! Please email Jeness Legters - jlegters@clymercsd.org or Carrie Shampoe - cshampoe@clymercsd.org to let us know if you are interested in helping out in any way! We are so thankful that we can do this for the kids this year but we need all the support that we can get to make this happen!!

This is a reminder that all students must complete the daily health screening form prior to reporting to the building each day. Students who have not completed the daily health form will not be allowed in class until a family member has been notified. In addition, if you child is absent from school, you must contact the health office regarding the details of your student’s absence. Students who return to school without a note will not be allowed in class until a parent/guardian can be reached. Your assistance with this requirement is necessary for the safety of everyone in the building. We are proud that we have been able to offer in-person learning to our students this year. Our success is a result of the partnership we have with our families. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon and Think Spring!
