The Clymer Board of Education is seeking to fill a vacancy on the Board by appointment.  The Board is looking to fill this vacancy by appointing someone qualified to serve on the Board of Education under the New York State Education Law and Board Policy 1230.  The successful candidate’s term will expire on June 30, 2025.  This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and community-minded individual to contribute to the future of our students and schools.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a resident of the Clymer school district

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Must not be a current employee of the school district

Responsibilities:

As a Board Member, you will:

  • Participate in regular Board meetings and workshops

  • Collaborate with other Board members and the Superintendent to set the vision and goals for the district

  • Make decisions on policies, budget allocations, and educational initiatives that affect the district

  • Represent the interests of the community and advocate for the needs of students, teachers, and staff

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest outlining their qualifications and reasons for wanting to serve on the School Board.  Applications must be received no later than 4:00 pm on September 9, 2024.  The Board will review applications and interested candidates will have the opportunity to address the Board at the regularly scheduled meeting on September 11th at 7:00 pm in The Helm.  The Board intends to vote to fill the vacancy via Board appointment at the October 9, 2024 meeting, and the newly appointed Board of Education member will be required to attend the New York State mandated Board of Education member training.  Letters of interest should be directed to:
